Segundo ele, faltam “algumas coisas” a acordar.
According to The Daily Mail, Aston Villa could bring in Norwich play-maker Emiliano Buendia before the transfer window closes on Friday.
What’s the word?
Reports from The Telegraph a few weeks ago revealed that Dean Smith’s side were very much interested in luring the Argentine to Villa Park, and with the window to do deals between Premier League and EFL clubs not closing until Friday, it’s a move that remains a possibility.
Now, The Daily Mail have named both Villa and Leeds as potential suitors for Buendia, and that they could look to bring him in before the deadline.
Imagine him and Jack Grealish
Whilst Jack Grealish doesn’t seem to be appreciated as much at international level – he was once again left out of the starting line-up for England on Wednesday night – his importance to Villa remains unquestioned.
He is the club’s talisman, and his start to the new Premier League season has already shown how much of a quality player Villa have on their hands – he’s picked up three goals and three assists in his first three league games.
But whilst Smith will be confident Grealish will continue to step up over the course of the season, it’s a massive burden to keep asking him to be one of the side’s chief goal-scorers and creators.
Bringing in someone like Buendia – whose total of 86 chances last season were only bettered by Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold – would go some way to solving that.
Described as a “revelation” by Chris Sutton, the Argentinian would add some extra flair and creativity to Villa’s attack. It would offer the side another dimension, and help ease the pressure on Grealish to create.
It’s no wonder one of Buendia’s former managers, Ruben de la Barrera, hailed him as someone who fits the profile of a “game-changing player”. If it came down to a move for Josh King or the Norwich man, then it’s the latter who Villa should target.
And in other news, Villa should have signed this man instead of Ollie Watkins.
The transfer window may be shut, but one West Brom star is being linked with an exit from the Hawthorns this week…
What’s the word?
According to Saudi Arabian outlet Okaz, Baggies centre-back Ahmed Hegazi is attracting the interest of Jeddah duo, Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad, with the latter appearing to be the front-runners to land his signature.
Saudi Pro League teams are able to sign players until November 12th despite the English window closing earlier this month.
The 29-year-old joined Albion from Egyptian outfit Al Ahly in 2017 for £4m and is thought to be on wages of around £26.5k-per-week.
Unforgivable mistake
This would be one baffling move to make on Luke Dowling’s part.
The Baggies picked up their first clean sheet of the season on Monday evening as they held fellow top-flight strugglers Burnley to a 0-0 draw.
Slaven Bilic made the bold call to completely tinker with his backline, dropping his usual first-choice duo Kyle Bartley and Semi Ajayi for the experience of Premier League champion Branislav Ivanovic and Hegazi.
The Egypt international was quickly becoming a forgotten man at the Midlands club having not made a single matchday squad since the season-opener until now.
His first start and full 90 minutes on the pitch resulted in a rare clean sheet, so it would be inexcusable to let him go after that feat.
Per SofaScore, the veteran centre-back recorded seven clearances, won 71.4% of his aerial duels and also made one interception.
If he were to depart the Hawthorns, Bilic would be left limited in options with genuine experience at this level – to add to the four names already mentioned, both Cedric Kipre and Dara O’Shea are still very raw.
Ivanovic is certainly hoping that he and Hegazi can “build on that” performance, so Dowling must resist the urge to cash in on the 29-year-old just yet.
AND in other news, Pulis signing proving to be a TOTAL WASTE of money after latest snub…
It is no secret that Arsenal adore Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, but there’s still every chance they fail to clinch him, so it would certainly be wise to eye up an alternative option…
What’s the word?
According to the Telegraph’s Sam Dean, the Gunners have expressed an interest in AS Roma powerhouse Amadou Diawara, though it is still early stages and nothing has been formalised as of yet.
It is believed that the Serie A outfit are very reluctant to sell with the 23-year-old having four years still left on his current contract.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have also run a story on this as relayed by Sport Witness. They claim, on the contrary, that Roma would sell him if they can clinch Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira in return.
It’s also hinted that the club value the Guinean enforcer at around €17m (£15m), which is much cheaper than Partey’s €50m (£45m) release clause.
Partey alternative
Whilst the Atletico Madrid star would be a much-needed addition at the Emirates, Arteta can’t afford to put all his eggs in one basket.
Diawara isn’t too dissimilar to him either having averaged 1.8 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 0.7 key passes per game, via WhoScored.
Partey probably edges out as a more box-to-box type midfielder whereas the Roma man can play at the base of a three-man midfield – ala Patrick Vieira-esque.
As per the graph above, there aren’t many defensive midfielders in Europe that rate out so well for duels won and interceptions per 90 minutes than Diawara.
He’s in a similar category to both Wilfried Ndidi and Declan Rice, which further hints towards him being a hit in the Premier League.
Former San Marino coach Fabrizio Tazzioli dubbed Diawara as a “phenomenon” before likening him to former Chelsea colossus Marcel Desailly and that’s not the only glowing comparison made either.
Roma fansite Chiesa Di Totti labelled him the heir to Daniele De Rossi’s throne in the Italian capital, which is high praise indeed.
Whether Arsenal can snatch Partey or not remains to be seen, but they wouldn’t be making an error if they instead turned their attentions to a player who appears to be shades of Vieira.
AND in other news, Gunners dealt blow as big target’s wage demands emerge…
Chelsea were victorious in their first Premier League match of the season after a convincing performance against Brighton.
The clash at the Amex Stadium saw the Blues scoop all three points after a 3-1 win to set them up for their meeting with Liverpool next.
Youngster Reece James shone after bagging a goal and an assist, with Timo Werner also doing well to earn his new side a penalty in the first half. However, fellow new recruit Kai Havertz had more of a quiet debut.
The official Chelsea Instagram page has uploaded snaps of the two new boys in action, but a lot of fans are demanding answers over Havertz.

The midfielder was played on the right wing against Brighton, which is not his natural position. A lot of Chelsea fans have taken to the comments of the Instagram post to ask why their new £71million signing is being played out of position and not in his more comfortable midfield role.
Despite not being directly involved in any of the goals, Havertz still had a solid game. According to Sofascore, the 21-year-old maintained an 88% passing rate along with completing three tackles and one key pass.
It’s still very early doors for the Chelsea newbie and Frank Lampard is just getting started in terms of the club’s impact on the league this season. After a return of 18 goals and nine assists across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen last campaign, some big performances can undoubtedly be expected from Havertz.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho could be eyeing up an audacious swoop to bolster his midfield armoury this summer, according to emerging reports.
La Repubblica, via Sport Witness, claim that the Portuguese chief wants AS Roma playmaker Nicolo Zaniolo at the club next season.
It’s also suggested that the 21-year-old’s relationship with his manager, Paulo Fonseca, is strained and that there’s an uphill battle faced in terms of reconciliation.
Whilst the Serie A outfit are seemingly unwilling to sell their midfield maestro, they have slapped a whopping €70-80m (£65-72m) price tag on Zaniolo’s back with league rivals Inter Milan and Juventus also keen on signing him.
The Italian international is one of the most exciting advanced midfielders in the game right now having provided seven goals and three assists whilst averaging 2.3 dribbles, 1.7 shots and 1.1 key passes per game, via WhoScored.
His performances for Roma have drawn high praise indeed.
Club legend Francesco Totti claimed that Zaniolo “has explosive strength and technique, and everything it takes to become a truly great player” whilst his former coach at Inter, Stefano Vecchi, likened him to Steven Gerrard and Mourinho’s ex-talisman Frank Lampard.
“He will go places. He has the characteristics to become a modern mezzala. He’s a [Steven] Gerrard, [Frank] Lampard-type player.”
Spurs hardly need any more attacking options, but a chance to sign his next Lampard should surely be too tempting to refuse.
Christian Eriksen’s void is still felt in north London with Giovani Lo Celso only managing to muster up one assist all season in the Premier League.
Zaniolo may come at a premium, but that’s somewhat the going-rate for a player who’s undoubtedly a generational talent.
And in other news, Paul Merson’s Spurs comments were instantly proven to be a mockery at the weekend…

Newcastle United’s prospective £300m takeover continues to be in the hands of the Premier League with a decision seemingly still some way from being final.
The whole process has been a long and tedious as it fastly descends into a third month of doubts and deliberations. Reports first broke in early April that Mike Ashley had agreed to sell the northeast club to Amanda Staveley’s Saudi Arabian-backed consortium.
But that’s where the PL have been forced into a tight corner as it’s believed that the Middle Eastern state is behind pirate streaming service beoutQ, which illegally broadcasts English top-flight matches.
This week, the Telegraph’s Luke Edwards has delivered a fresh verdict over the takeover, but it’s a rather bold and worrying call.
Speaking on the ‘Everything is Black and White‘ podcast, he said:
“My gut feeling – and it’s only a feeling – is that it will be passed but I am now at the point where I am probably reducing myself to 50/50. Now that’s where I am. I think it’s a 50/50 call on which way it will go.”
Edwards has been on the ball throughout the process, so his inclination that it’s going to be a 50/50 decision on the Premier League’s part is cause for concern.
He does state that he thinks it will hinge on the positive side of things, but given how long it has already taken, there is an air of uncertainty floating around the St James’ Park faithful.

In reality, no one really knows what the PL will decide to do, and it’s fair to argue that they’ve had the ‘Project Restart’ fiasco on their hands, too.
Only time will tell if United will begin a new era in the northeast.

Paris Saint-Germain are seemingly still trying to cope with Neymar Junior over in the French capital.
Even though the Brazilian has been quite effective for the Saints – seeing how he managed to net 57 goals and a total of 30 assists in just 67 games played since his arrival – Thomas Tuchel just might be ready to offload the samba star.
Or he’s at least bracing for his potential departure further down the line.

France Football (via Sport Witness) have come out recently with a report stating that PSG are looking at Neymar alternatives in case he truly does end up leaving Parc des Princes.
The same source mentions that the Saints see Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, valued at £135m by Transfermarkt, as the perfect replacement for the Brazilian.
And looking at it from their point of view, that truly seems like a match made in heaven.
After all, Jurgen Klopp’s talisman has arguably been one of the best players in the Premier League in 2019/20, already bagging nine goals and six assists in the league.
No clues: Can you name the season these iconic Liverpool images belong to?
He was also recently named as the fourth-best player in the world, finishing only behind Lionel Messi, Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo in the final Ballon d’Or standings.
Needless to say, he is a player with incredible quality and at the age of 27, he truly looks like a like-for-like replacement for Neymar.
Right now he could very well be an upgrade if Paris Saint-Germain manage to snatch him away from Liverpool.
But that’s the trick in the whole story – is this deal even possible?
Considering how important Mane is to Klopp and the fact Liverpool are currently among the best teams in Europe, it’s highly unlikely that the French giants can clinch this deal.
But the odds were arguably against them in the signing of Neymar as well and here we are. Nothing is truly impossible in football and for that reason, this deal, although unlikely, shouldn’t be completely disregarded as a non-starter.
Let’s see what ends up happening.
