Real Madrid have to put some faith into Thibaut Courtois

It’s difficult to make it at Real Madrid.
That much we can all agree on. After all, many big names have tried and failed and many more will surely follow in the future.
At the moment, Thibaut Courtois is in danger of becoming one of those stars that arrived as big reinforcements and a step in the right direction only to trip over their own feet and flop.

With that being said, Real Madrid’s reported interest in buying a potential replacement for the former Chelsea star doesn’t really come as a surprise.
El Desmarque recently came out with a story that Unai Simon of Athletic Bilbao is being studied by Florentino Perez and co. as a possible replacement for their out of favour Belgian ace.
Seemingly, the Galacticos expect much more from the 27-year-old between the sticks and even though nothing is set in stone just yet, he is walking on a tight rope.
But would that really be the right way to go for the Whites?
After all, it very much seems like we haven’t really seen the best out of Courtois but it could yet come his way.

His stellar display against Galatasaray in a do or die scenario – when he recorded three vital saves for the team – is definitely something that can support this argument.
It must be remembered that we are talking about a goalie that was a big name at both Chelsea and Atletico Madrid and still is when playing for his national side, Belgium.
Maybe the pressure of donning the royal white got to him and the fans’ constant outcries and critiques were a bit too much but those things have nothing to do with his ability.
It’s all in the head, isn’t it?
For that reason, parting ways with him should not really be on the agenda for Los Blancos and Zinedine Zidane should put some faith into his man.
And who knows, maybe it will pay off and Real will suddenly have a world-class goalkeeper on their hands.
